Comments: A pair on fine Full-integral Drop-point Hunters by noted German maker Jurgen Scahnz. Both knives are in Stainless DamaSteel Damascus with presentation Grade Desert Ironwood scales. The inlay patterns are unique and we've never seen another full Integral knife with this type of inlay technique.
In 1991 Juergen Schanz (born 1970) finished a Malaysian kris, a so-called "flame dagger", to qualify as a journeyman knife maker. With this piece of art and fine craftsmanship he won the prize "Bundessieger Handwerk" (best final examination to become a journeyman in Germany), which enabled him to become a master knife maker three years later. Since 1995 the knife maker from south-west Germany is one of the only 70 worldwide members of the German Knife makers Guild.
His customers are mainly hunters but also lovers and collectors of fine art knives and swords. Among these admirers one can find the Mongolian Prince Ganjuuryn Dschero Khan, whose line of ancestors goes back to the legendary Dschingis Khan.
Juergen Schanz cannot be pinpointed to one style of knives because he likes to fulfil the wishes of his customers while creating striving to create something new and individual every time he makes knife or sword.
Once in a while Jurgen can be found at the Knife Makers Guild Show in the US but generally does not come to the states more than once every three years.
You won't be disappointed by these remarkable knives - we promise!
